The ATP has announced the list of 24 players who will be competing in the Mutua Madrid Open qualifiers. In addition, the tournament will grant 4 invitations, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
On Saturday 6 and 7 May, the 28 players will battle it out on the Caja Mágica clay for 7 places in the final draw of the Masters 1000 competition. The qualifying rounds will include big names from the international stage that have already won ATP titles this year such as Borna Coric (recent champion in Marrakech) and Alexandr Dolgopolov (champion in Buenos Aires). As well as Coric, the Madrid public will be able to enjoy #NextGenATP young guns Karen Khachanov, Jared Donaldson, Daniil Medvedev and Ernesto Escobedo. Thanasi Kokkinakis will also play in the qualifying stages on the basis of his protected ranking.
Nico Almagro, who is included on the list, will be exempt from playing in the qualifiers thanks to a wildcard granted to him by the organisation to take part in the main draw.
