The world no. 1, whose impressions of his fellow players are now renowned, got to meet his own impersonators this Monday, the winners of the Mutua Madrileña competition to find the best ‘Nole’ imitator.
The best impersonator on the ATP circuit met his own imitators today. Mutua Madrileña launched a competition to find the best “Novaks”, and the world number one had the chance to meet the five winners this evening.
Djokovic dropped into the Mutua Madrileña Lounge at the Caja Mágica where he met all the finalists and watched the winning video with them. The winner was unable to attend the event but will have the opportunity to meet the Serb next Friday. Not only did the finalists get the chance to meet their idol and have a photo taken with him, they will also receive two free tickets to the final.
The Serb seemed blown away by the quality of the winning video, to judge by the comments – accompanied by his habitual chuckles – that he made to us here at the Mutua Madrid Open’s official web page: “I think he’s a worthy winner. He deserves it. It’s amazing! I was very impressed with the video. I think he has a great potential to become a professional impersonator.”
