This Saturday the national competition testing contestants' skills at EA Sports' 'Grand Slam Tennis 2' gets underway. The lucky 56 selected will be brought to La Caja Mágica to battle it out for the crown.

The Mutua Madrid Open once again shows it has its eyes firmly on the future with its “Virtual Mutua Madrid Open“, a national videogaming competition for tennis lovers everywhere, from which 56 winners will be chosen to journey to La Caja Mágica to battle for the crown and the more than €5,000 on offer in prizes.

The tournament will put contestants’ prowess at EA Sports’ ‘Grand Slam Tennis 2′ to the test. A qualifying stage will take place in FNAC centres in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona. 56 players will make it through that stage to form the main draw of the tournament, just like the main ATP draw at the real Mutua Madrid Open. These lucky 56 will fight to become the Djokovic, Nadal, Azarenka or Kvitova of virtual tennis.

All those interested in participating in the competition can apply in the following FNAC centres:

- 24th-25th of March: FNAC San Agustín, Valencia

- 1st of April: FNAC Parquesur, Madri

- 7th- 22th of April: FNAC Callao, Madri

- 13th-14th of April: FNAC Arenas, Barcelona

- 14th-15th of April: FNAC Xanadú, Madrid

- 21st-22nd of April: FNAC La Gavia, Madrid

- 27th-28th of April: FNAC Castellana, Madrid

Furthermore, while the Virtual Mutua Madrid Open is taking place in the aforementioned FNAC centres, ticket sales points will be set up on site so that anyone who wants to enjoy the best in world tennis at La Caja Mágica from the 4th to the 13th of May can buy their tickets there and then. The Virtual Mutua Madrid Open is just another example of the huge variety of leisure activities for tennis fans of all ages offered by the Madrid tournament.
