“La Caja Mágica“ (the Magic Box) will be one of the most magnificent tennis facilities in the world. Designed by French Dominique Perrault, the new facilities at the Park Manzanares have as the epicentre, the three stadiums of the Magic Box, with a capacity for 12,500, 3,500 and 2,500 spectators respectively. In addition, the complex has over 16 courts. During the Mutua Madrileña Madrid Open four of them, in which stands for 1,000 people will be added, will be used for competition, and players will be able to practice in the other nine.

No tennis tournament in the world has anything like this. The Australian Open has two courts which can be covered, but others are still just a project. Wimbledon is working to cover one court. Both Paris and New York are looking at options for their central courts. From now on, the Madrid Open will be the new standard in the world of tennis.

The new facilities of the Magic Box will surprise the visitor not only because of its majesty and innovation but because of the new entertainment features.
Having an outdoor tournament in springtime opens a range of possibilities. We are working on offering new experiences. We will organise tennis activities so that everyone can practice their favourite sport in the tournament.

The tournament will also have an extensive gastronomic offering as well as more entertainment with music and other shows. We have created the new concept of "Tennistainment".
