TicketsHermanas Williams con sus trofeos

A year after bowing out in the final, Rafael Nadal took his revenge and beat Roger Federer in the decider to celebrate his second trophy in Madrid and his first on the Caja Mágica clay. The Mallorcan only lost one set on his road to victory (semi-finals against Nicolás Almagro) and finished the week off with a win over Federer, the world number one. Meanwhile, Aravane Rezai was crowned the women’s champion after defeating Venus Williams, the fourth seed, in the final. The French player took the title after a great week in which she beat Justin Henin, Andrea Petkovic, Jelena Jankovic and Lucie Safarova to leave Madrid with the title.
