After a three-year absence, Madrid couldn’t wait to see Roger Federer again. It turns out the feeling was mutual and the Swiss is making the most of his participation in the Mutua Madrid Open to enjoy the city and some of its most emblematic sites.

In fact, this morning he made his way to Cibeles to visit one of the biggest tourist attractions in Madrid, the City Hall. It was also a very special visit as the Swiss enjoyed the luxury of a very special guide, the mayor of Madrid herself, Manuela Carmena.

The mayor, after attending the official Mutua Madrid Open presentation on Friday at the Museo del Prado, accompanied Federer throughout and gave him a first-hand explanation of every corner of our capital’s municipal office building. Among the parts of the visit that most impressed the Swiss player were the Palacio de Cristal itself and the spectacular views they were able to enjoy from the terraces on the historic building’s 6th and 11th floors.
